Ohio Needs MHFA: Advocate to Bring It Back!
The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) has removed MHFA training from its budget, ending five years of vital support.
Why It Matters
- Our teen programs are at full capacity
- The demand is still growing even after 40,000 people have been trained.
- More than 80 organizations are on a waiting list to receive training.
- We currently have funding for only 15 of Ohio’s 88 counties.
What’s at Risk
We lose momentum in building a statewide network of trained mental health responders who know what to say and do when someone is struggling.
A Path Forward
We respectfully ask DBH to find immediate and long-term discretionary funding so we can continue to serve those who need MHFA most.
